Looking to create a safer, healthier workplace? The Health and Safety Planner course helps Nova Scotia workplaces identify safety needs and plan actionable steps for compliance and best practices.
This program contains 5 courses related to Microsoft Office 2016: Beginning Excel
This training program provides owners and managers of small to medium-sized businesses with the information required to develop well-informed workplace policies regarding drug and alcohol use. The objective is to highlight common-sense approaches to these workplace policies. What happens with an employee breaks the rules or arrives and work still under the influence of a substance? This training program also outlines workplace drug and alcohol policy roles and responsibilities, and the importance of employees being familiar with these workplace documents.
The Professional Development: Communication Strategies program contains seven courses which include: Building Your Presentation, Conquering the Challenges of Public Speaking, Keeping Business Calls Professional, Planning an Effective Presentation, Polishing Your Feedback Skills, The Art and Science of Communication, and Writing and Preparing an Effective Speech.
This course is intended to provide workers with the knowledge and tools to enter new jobs safely. It provides an overview of occupational health and safety roles, responsibilities, and systems. It also looks at some common workplace hazards, and introduces some basic risk mitigation strategies.

The program is made possible by funding from the Province of Nova Scotia – through the various Industry Sector Councils – to assist employers, employees, and provincial job seekers in acquiring valuable skills.
